Looking back at ETH Zurich’s 2025
Engineers, biomedical researchers, computer scientists, and many other members of the ETH Zurich community have made great strides in research and teaching. Here is a brief review of an eventful year.
Scientists at ETH Zurich explored the origins of life and developed building materials for a sustainable future. They created new 3D printing processes for metals and even entire towers. Researchers also developed components for the next generation of data transmission and therapies against dangerous pathogens. Advanced simulations now make it easier to predict landslides, and a new method has been developed to remediate chemical contamination. Furthermore, researchers created a transparent and multilingual AI language model. ETH Zurich also established a centre to strengthen the connection between science, technology and politics, and plans to create a competence centre for Earth observation.
