Chorafas Prize
The external page Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation awards scientific prizes for outstanding work of doctoral students in engineering sciences, medicine and natural sciences at partner universities in Europe, North America and Asia. ETH Zurich is invited to nominate two of their best graduating doctoral students each year.
The Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation Award amounts USD 10,000. It is awarded to single persons and cannot be divided.
Candidates should not have reached the age of 32 at the time of nomination and must have graduated after 31 May of the year before the nomination. Additionally, they must have received an ETH Zurich silver medal for their doctoral thesis.
The Vice President Research and the Vice Rector for Doctoral Studies select two candidates from the list of doctoral students who have received a silver medal for their doctoral thesis. Self-nominations are not possible.
The ETH Zurich Grants Office informs the candidates in August about the result of the nomination.
