Master Biotechnology

The Master's degree programme in biotechnology provides a scientific education in biotechnology with a focus on systems biology and synthetic biology.
Together with a mentor, students create an individual study plan that allows for a flexible choice of courses. In addition to selected core and advanced courses, electives in biotechnology-specific topics also serve to broaden knowledge in related subject areas.
Familiarity with scientific working methods and in-depth insights into current research topics are achieved through project work, e.g. research projects. The programme is completed with an eight-month master's thesis in a current research topic.
The Master's degree qualifies for advanced development activities in biomedical research and development, the pharmaceutical industry and diagnostics, the chemical industry, the food and feed industry, biotechnological apparatus and plant engineering and the corresponding sectors of public administration, associations and consulting.
