Entscheidungsnavi (tool for decision making)

The Entscheidungsnavi provides structure for a reflected decision-making process.

Entscheidungsnavi

The tool was developed by the Decision Research and Financial Services Department at RWTH Aachen University and contains all the essential findings of modern decision research, in order to achieve the highest possible decision quality. The tool incorporates the approach of Value-Focused Thinking by Prof. Ralph Keeney as well as research findings by Nobel Prize winner Prof. Daniel Kahnemann.

The external page decision navigator helps you to think through a decision situation in a structured way. It incorporates your values and goals and enables you to search for new options for action. With the Navi you build up a matrix of your different options, evaluate and weight them. You receive an analytical recommendation for action, which you can compare to your gut feeling with the help of the tool and make your decision broader or question it accordingly.

The external page decision navi is suitable for a variety of questions, e.g.

  • Which career path should I take after my master's degree?
  • Is a doctorate the right path for me?
  • I have several offers - which job suits me best?
  • How and where should I best gain experience abroad?
  • Etc.

The external page decision navigator is available in an abbreviated version (Simple) or as a Guided full version. In both cases, it is important to think about the decision question well in advance and to invest sufficient time in the tool.

RWTH Aachen University provides the tool free of charge.
