The Department of Mathematics (www.math.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position.

Successful candidates should demonstrate an excellent research record and a proven ability to direct research work in mathematics of highest quality. Willingness to participate in collaborative work both within and outside the school is expected. The new professor will be responsible, together with other members of the department, for teaching undergraduate (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) for students of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering. We expect candidates to have experience through studies, projects, publications and/or collaborations in the field of didactics of university mathematics. They should show a strong commitment to taking the leading role in the department in curriculum development and in the implementation of innovative teaching methods and technologies.

Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to that of other top international universities.

Bei der vergleichenden Bewertung der Leistungen der Bewerber:innen wird das jeweilige akademische Nettoalter als Zeitraum seit der Promotionspr¨¹fung ber¨¹cksichtigt, der f¨¹r wissenschaftliche Arbeit aufgewendet wurde. Dieser Zeitraum sollte zum Zeitpunkt der Bewerbung acht Jahre nicht ¨¹berschreiten.
