Information for lecturers

Always use and activate the microphone to make sure your recording has audio!

Recording

  • Recordings start two minutes before the time stated in the course catalogue and ends 10 minutes after the time stated there. It begins and ends automatically and takes into account lecture times of all buildings and courses.
  • Subject to the infrastructure of the lecture hall, recordings include:
    • lecture hall audio (microphone),
    • in lecture halls with digital recording, the projected signal including document camera,
    • in lecture halls with manual board recording, the addition of the signal of the operated camera (including picture of the lecturer) and
    • in lecture halls with automatic board recording, the picture of the projection area (board, projection areas) and, as a result, also the people present there.
  • If you mute or switch off the microphone, we will not receive any audio signal for the recording. Please remember to activate or switch on the microphone at the (re-)starting time of the course. Without a microphone, there's no useful recording.
  • Questions from the students present in the lecture hall should be asked without microphone (hygiene); please repeat these questions before replying to enable external students to better understand them.
  • When the beamer is switched off or deactivated ("picture mute"), we send a "pause" signal for the recording, but continue to transmit the audio signal.

Publication

  • The URL of the recording is published in the VVZ (if made "public) and myStudies; otherwise, check the external page list.
  • Information about user name and password protecting a recording will be communicated by mail.
  • There can be more than one recording for one room depending on the number of recording devices installed, cf. list.
  • If you do want to withdraw individual recordings of your courses from the video portal, please inform us, stating the number of the course according to the CC and date of the corresponding recording by sending an e-mail to .
  • Cf. video player documentation for more details.

All lecture halls under the responsibility of the rectorate are equipped with an audio interface that enables the use of Zoom in connection with the auditorium audio. This means that Zoom can be used to send (teachers in the lecture hall) as well as to receive (teachers in the office or home office) - cf. documentation. Zoom in seminar rooms is do-it-yourself according to the documentation.

All lecture halls under the responsibility of the rectorate are equipped with a document camera (visualizer) to serve as a digital alternative to the blackboard, cf. documentation.
