New space for innovation: the renovated and extended HIF building of the D-BAUG

The HIF building on the H?nggerberg campus has been renovated and extended for the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG). The department's research now benefits from an enlarged building hall and new laboratories, among other things. The new building was officially opened in mid-June.

Thomas Meierhans wins the ALEA Award

The ALEA – the Art of Leadership Award – has been conferred by ETH Zurich since 2017 in recognition of leaders who facilitate modern and innovative working conditions and who actively encourage and support the reconciliation of work, family, and part-time commitments. This time the award was for the first time jointly presented at an independent event by AVETH (Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich) and VPPL.
A spectacular initiative
A 245-tonne circular concrete chamber has been installed at the H?nggerberg campus. It serves as the housing of a large geotechnical centrifuge that is used to model earthquakes and their effects on soils and buildings.
Ground-breaking ceremony HIF renovation and extension

Yesterday, ETH Zurich and the team of architects, building planners and construction managers involved in the project attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the HIF renovation and extension project at 365体育官网_365体育备用【手机在线】 H?nggerberg. The event marks the beginning of the upgrade and renovation project at one of the largest building complexes on the campus. It will also be the home of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering.
