Accessible or not? Find out for yourself!
ETH Zurich aims to minimise barriers or, ideally, remove them completely. This includes providing information on accessibility. It is now possible to check online in advance which events and rooms are accessible.

The room information provides an overview of many rooms at ETH Zurich. In addition to photos, there is information on facilities, multimedia offerings and, now, accessibility. You can filter by the following categories:
- Height-adjustable desks with wheelchair access
- Wheelchair accessible
- Wheelchair space available (stepped lecture halls)
- Support for hearing impairments
- Directions for people with visual impairments
A ‘Details’ field provides additional information about the situation on site.
Please note: Currently, information on accessibility is available for around 80 per cent of rooms. Information on the accessibility of the remaining rooms will be added in the course of 2025.
Which events are accessible and in what way?
It is now also possible to see which of the many events taking place at ETH are inclusive. The event calendar now includes an ‘Accessibility’ filter with four categories:
- Suitable for people with motor disabilities
- Suitable for people with visual impairments
- Suitable for people with hearing impairments
- Available in sign language

The website Accessible events summarises this information separately.
Accessibility
Accessibility affects us all: every day, everyone faces barriers of varying degrees. ETH Zurich aims to minimise these barriers or, ideally, remove them completely. The university should be designed according to the principle of ‘design for all’ so that everyone has largely unrestricted access to its buildings and services.
Further information on advice, services, events and news can be found on the new Accessibility website.
