Help shape the future of energy – at Energy Week @ ETH 2025
The energy transition is not only a technological challenge, but a task for society as a whole. From 10 to 14 November, lectures, interactive formats and an exhibition in the main hall will highlight how each of us can contribute to the solution.

The energy world is in a state of upheaval. Society, politics and business must create conditions that enable innovation and promote broad acceptance. At the same time, research and industry are driving the development of forward-looking technologies – from digital solutions and smart grids to negative emissions and heat storage.
Dialogue and knowledge transfer on energy
Energy Week @ ETH 2025 focuses on the current challenges of the energy transition. How does CO2behave underground? How can Switzerland's electricity supply remain stable even in the face of climate change? How can we design a flexible, climate-neutral and reliable energy system? What paths are conceivable for a future Swiss energy system?
From 10 to 14 November, Energy Week @ ETH will bring together researchers, experts and interested members of the public. The programme includes a symposium, focus dialogues, conferences and workshops on the topic of energy.
Exhibition on the future of the Swiss energy world
The centrepiece of Energy Week is the public exhibition "Time of Energy". It invites visitors to discover the dynamic world of electricity production, use and storage in Switzerland. Ten clocks artistically illustrate how electricity flows, heat is stored, households are supplied, vehicles are charged and various energy sources interact after the energy transition in 2050. Each clock tells its own story – about the course of a day or an entire year – and shows how electricity is generated, transferred and used.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday, 10 November to Sunday, 16 November during the regular opening hours of the ETH main building.
Energy Week @ ETH: Join the discussion now
Following the public symposium and Energy Apéro on Tuesday, 11 November, the second half of the week will feature focus dialogues – an easy way to learn about current developments online. Experts will discuss concrete and innovative approaches for a stable and sustainable energy future: from flexible grid tariffs to new solutions for heat supply and storage to strategies for negative emissions.
