New delegate for sustainability transformation
The Executive Board has appointed Thomas Bernauer as the new delegate for sustainability transformation, effective 1 November 2025. Bernauer has been a professor of political science at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS) since 2004.
In his new role, Thomas Bernauer will serve as chair and spokesperson of the Sustainability Council. Together with its members, he will identify and promote strategically relevant sustainability efforts and report to the Executive Board on developments and goal achievement. He represents ETH Zurich in national and international networks, e.g. in the International Sustainable 365体育官网_365体育备用【手机在线】 Network, and makes appearances at events and in the media.

Personnel changes in the Language Center Board of Trustees
The external page Board of Trustees of the Language Center of the University and ETH Zurich is elected for a two-year term. At the end of the last term of office, Manfred Sigrist (Professor of Theoretical Physics, D-PHYS) stepped down from the board at the end of September 2025. The Executive Board would like to thank him warmly for his great commitment over the past years.
On 1 October 2025, the following newly elected or re-elected ETH representatives took up their positions on the Board of Trustees:
Andreas Kilcher (Professor of Literature and Cultural Studies, D-GESS) and Fadoua Balabdaoui (Titular Professor at the Department of Statistics, D-MATH) were confirmed in their positions.
Stefano Brusoni (Professor of Technology and Innovation Management, D-MTEC and Vice-Rector for Continuing Education) joined the Board as the successor to Manfred Sigrist.
Wendy Altherr, Co-Head of Staff to the Rector, continues to sit on the Board of Trustees as a non-voting member ex officio.
