How an emergency response can unfold
Emergency calls can be made 24 hours a day via the ETH emergency desk. If, in addition to the EHT, an ambulance is required, it will be called out at the same time and the callers will be connected to the 144 emergency desk to receive telephone support for the care of patients.
The ETH emergency desk alerts the three nearest first aid members and the security service via pager. They go directly from their place of work to the scene of the incident with the equipment they have at their workplace, such as a high-visibility vest and a bag with first aid supplies. If cardiac arrest is suspected or imminent, the defibrillator is brought to the scene by the EHT and the security service. Upon arrival, they assess the situation, evaluate the patients and begin treatment.
An operation takes around 30 minutes and is concluded with a report and the preparation of the materials.
