PhD Exchange 2025: Remote Sensing, Plant Phenotyping & Biomass Production

On November 4, 2025, the Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center (PSC) will host a PhD Exchange Mini-Symposium in collaboration with the Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany).

This event will bring together up to 50 doctoral researchers for a day of scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration.A delegation of 12 PhD students from Jülich’s Institute of Bio- and Geosciences (IBG-2) will present their latest projects in plant sciences, alongside contributions from Zurich-based researchers.

Topics include:
1) Remote sensing and satellite data for plant monitoring
2) Novel approaches to plant phenotyping
3) Process optimization in biomass production

Participation is limited to PhD students and requires an active contribution (talk or poster).

Registration Guidelines

When registering, please provide the following:
1) Indicate if you apply to give a talk (max. 15 min), a poster, or both.
2) Provide your presentation title (a short abstract is optional).
3) List all collaborators on the project, underline the presenting author.
4) Select the session you wish to contribute to: Remote Sensing, Plant Phenotyping, or Biomass Production.
