Work and communicate with others

Conflicts have a negative "image", and they are a usually unwanted part of social interactions. Get some ideas of how to handle a conflict, know your own conflict style and learn to react constructively and early enough to avoid escalation.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consider implications of your role as a doctoral student in a group
  • Learn about conflict escalation and your (also bodily) reactions to it
  • Try to see "both sides" by changing perspectives
  • Get to know and stand up for your own needs
  • Reflect on how a good relationship affects disagreement and difficult situations
  • Practice deescalating communications patterns

Please note: This will be an interactive workshop. Your active participation in practices and discussions is requested.
