Recruitment
Looking to strenghten your team? Plan carefully to ensure you not only recruit quickly but also find people who are the right fit both professionally and personally. We’ll show you what matters in the recruitment process — from the initial planning stages to signing the contract.
Good workforce planning means thinking about the future today.
Depending on the role you’re recruiting for — especially in technical or IT positions — thorough preparation is crucial. It helps you recruit the right people in good time, avoid staff shortages and build a motivated, satisfied team.
An early kick-off meeting with everyone involved is a great way to clarify key questions and set the stage for an efficient and effective process.
- Is there a foreseeable vacancy, for example due to retirement?
- Is funding secured, and has the position been approved?
- Employees in administration, IT or technical fields are typically employed on a permanent basis. Exceptions for fixed-term contracts can be found here.
- Has HR consulting (HR partner or recruiting) been involved early to define the recruitment strategy?
- What is the job market like for the position you are looking to fill?
- How is the team currently structured, and what changes are foreseeable?
- Have requirements in the professional field changed?
- Have interdisciplinary skills – such as problem-solving or cross-functional collaboration – become more important?
- What additional skills are needed to meet future challenges – personal (e.g. social skills) as well as interdisciplinary (e.g. methodological or digital skills)?
- Are there internal employees who are suitable for the position and could be promoted?
- Can young professionals – such as apprenticeship or ETH graduates – be actively included in the selection process?
- Can career changers with relevant skills or development potential be considered?
