Storage duration of recordings in the Zoom Cloud

Automatic Deletion

Zoom Cloud recordings will be automatically moved to the Zoom Cloud Trash after two years (730 days) and permanently deleted after another 30 days.

In the external page Zoom web portal you can see at which date a recording will be moved to the Zoom Cloud trash.

Seven days before a recording is permanently deleted, an email is sent to the Zoom account that was used to set up the meeting.

Recordings in the external page Zoom Cloud Trash can be recovered at any time for the duration of one day, e.g. to download them before they are definitively deleted. After one day, the recording is automatically moved back to trash.

Manual deletion

The purpose of the Zoom Cloud is primarily to temporarily share recordings in teaching context (in particular lectures).

It is not intended for long-term storage or storage of other meetings and private recordings.

Therefore, please manually delete all recordings that are no longer to be shared in the teaching context. You can find an overview of your Zoom Cloud recordings on the external page ETH Zoom web portal.
