Anyone walking across the ETH Zurich campus is moving through a landscape that is undergoing change. Sustainably redesigned green spaces promote a species-rich habitat ¨C right in the middle of everyday university life.

The rollout of the e-learning module ¡°Safety and Security at ETH Zurich¡± will begin tomorrow. This module teaches the basics of occupational safety and health in everyday life at ETH, as well as how to behave in the event of an incident. The Executive Board strongly recommends that all ETH members complete the module.

The south wing of the HPT building has been renovated and converted. It is now available to the Institute of Molecular Plant Biology with modern laboratories. In addition, the Mechanical Workshop has moved into the converted workshop wing. Both wings were inaugurated and handed over to their users on Tuesday.

Over the last few days, ETH Zurich has had the water in its older buildings tested for hazardous heavy metals. National Future Day is taking place on 14 November 2024, when fifth to seventh grade pupils will have the opportunity at ETH Zurich to delve into the diverse professional world of science, technology and administration. Anyone organizing a more sustainable event at ETH will now be rewarded. From today on, internal silver and gold labels will be awarded to qualifying events. New guidelines offer clear direction for event planning and set a higher standard of sustainability for all ETH events. ?

In the run-up to the planned exhibition ¡°KEEP IT CO₂OL¡±,?focusTerra is organising a photo competition in which pictures can be submitted that show, for example, the beauty of nature, visible effects of climate change or possible climate protection measures.

The first phase of public tenders for the takeover of the standard range and examination printing was successful. The project team was able to define a shortlist of printing companies that can now submit a concrete offer by July. The plot on demand (PLOD) service will be handed over to an external operator in December.

The majority of ETH Zurich buildings are not yet barrier-free.
