Nicola Aceto succeeds Sai Reddy on the Research Commission
The Executive Board has appointed Nicola Aceto, Professor of Molecular Oncology (D-BIOL), as a new member of the ETH Zurich Research Commission. He succeeds Sai Reddy, Professor of Systems and Synthetic Immunology (D-BSSE), who stepped down at the end of August after completing his first term of office.
Sai Reddy has supported the work of the Commission with great commitment over the past four years – the Executive Board would like to thank him warmly for his valuable contribution. With Nicola Aceto, the Research Commission gains a proven expert in the field of molecular biology and biomedicine. The Executive Board welcomes him and wishes him all the best in his new role.
The Research Commission reviews around 300 applications each year and advises the Executive Board on research policy issues.
New Procurement Services VPIN unit to launch in 2026
On 1 January 2026, the new Procurement Services VPIN unit will be established within the Vice-Presidency for Infrastructure and Sustainability (VPIN). This will enable the Vice-Presidency for Infrastructure and Sustainability to consolidate its procurement activities, which were previously organised across various divisions, into a central unit. The new unit will take over procurement for the product groups for which VPIN is responsible.
Employees from VPIN's internal procurement teams will be gradually transferred to the new Procurement Services VPIN unit. The aim is to standardise procurement processes, increase transparency and planning reliability, and make even better use of synergies. The centralised organisation will also strengthen the negotiating position vis-à-vis suppliers and lay the foundation for modern, efficient and compliant procurement.
